Elementary Academics

The elementary school at Summit Christian Academy includes students in kindergarten through sixth grades. Believing that the years spent in elementary school lay the foundation for developing a child’s God-given potential, SCA partners with parents in developing the necessary spiritual, academic, social, and physical skills necessary for their child’s successful future.

Our dedication to excellence is apparent in our commitment to hiring certified teachers who provide a challenging curriculum based on the individual needs of each student. Small class sizes, with an average ratio of 16:1, allow our teachers to cultivate meaningful relationships and develop each child’s learning potential.

Each class is taught through a biblical worldview, integrating God’s truth into each subject.  Special teachers for physical education, art, computers, library, music, and Spanish provide areas of learning to help the student fully develop his/her gifts and talents.

Another key component of the elementary program is to maintain strong communication with the parents. A dynamic method of staying in touch is through weekly class newsletters and Renweb, the online parent website that posts teacher lesson plans and student grades. These resources apprise parents of key calendar dates and events that are happening on the campus, provide parenting tips, and give information about the many wonderful ways that students are learning within the classrooms.

Our teachers prepare students for life in relevant ways.  Whether it is in the classroom, in a hands-on lab experiment, on a field trip, or on one of the many community service projects, Summit Christian Academy’s graduates are prepared to live a life of contribution and significance.
