Go Eagles!

Summit Christian Academy proudly offers a comprehensive athletic program designed to supplement our academic program. We recognize that God has gifted students in a variety of ways, including abilities in athletics. Our athletic programs provide an opportunity for these students to develop and use their God-given abilities.

Extra-curricular activities, especially athletics, enhance the atmosphere of the Summit Christian Academy student body, providing students and parents with an opportunity to express positive school spirit.

A Letter from the Athletic Director

July 8, 2008

Dear Parents,

Hello! I hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer. The 2008-2009 school year is fast approaching, and we are looking forward to our upcoming athletic seasons. As many of you know, Summit Christian Academy is growing at an unbelievable rate, and so is our Athletic Department. Our programs have been through many changes, as we continue to strive for athletic excellence!

Some new additions our athletic department is excited about offering this school year are Elementary and Junior High football. This will include a 3rd-4th grade team, a 5th-6th grade team, as well as a Junior High team, and with the addition of these new teams, comes the responsibility of ordering all new football equipment. In preparation for the upcoming football season, we have already purchased all of the new equipment; therefore, it is necessary that all athletic fees are paid before the first day of practice.

If your child is interested in participating in Summit athletics, below is some very important information:

  • The cost to play on any of our Summit football teams is $100.00, which includes: a helmet, pads, and practice and game uniforms.
  • All athletic fees must be paid before any student will be allowed to participate in a practice or a game.
  • All insurance information must be completed and returned before the first day of school. Volleyball and football forms must be returned by their first day of practice.
  • You must turn in your Parent Participation Contract by the first day of practice.
  • All athletes must have a physical examination the summer before school starts. If your child plays football or volleyball, the examination forms must be turned in by the first day of practice.
  • All physicals given for OSSAA participation must be given no earlier than May 1, 2008.

For your convenience, Dr. Doug Newcomb, our team doctor, has extended a special Summit price for our sports physicals. He will only charge $20 per athlete. To make an appointment, call his office at 251-4239.You must mention you are a Summit athlete, or you will not get the special price.

Once again, I am looking forward to a wonderful year in Summit athletics. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 251-1997.

In His service together,

Michael Rogers

Athletic Director
